precision powder scoops?

I find them handy for measuring cornmeal filler for some cast loads.I don't use my scoops that often, but I keep a set just the same. 99% of all ammo uses dumped powder charges.There must be something to it. These scoops can never get out of adjustment, though lot to lot the powders may change density-slightly. I agree with Dogleg, if a load is that finicky, start looking for a more accomodating recipe.
 
I have used the Lee powder scoops a lot, both for lighter loads with cast bullets, as well as some practice and hunting loads. I do not use them for loads that approach maximum, but there is a lot of shooting to do with loads that are under that line. If I want to assemble a bunch to practice with, then the scoops are a quick and easy way to assemble loads that are accurate and workable.
I am not trying to shoot out to 600 yards; if I were I would be more concerned. But, at 100 or 200 yards the scoops can make fine loads.
 
Lee powder scoops

I use a Lee powder scoop handle to clean off the powder at the neck after I fill the case full, it works well for that!

never used a percision Lee powder scoop tho!
 
i don't think i've used mine in 40 years; got a measure right off, and stayed with it- traded in the rcbs/redding for a dillon with a auto- charge( you don't need to flip the handle) - even my lee 1000 has a dillon on it

i have one in my classic loader kit(.308), 45.5gr of imr4320 start showing sign of over pressure in my rifle. a full scoop weight about 46.6gr,so i have to weigh each load every round using a scale and a powder trickler.
border line unsafe imo.

If you don't match the powder to the scoop, then it doesn't work.
