Precision rifle competitions in bc?

There were only 2 this year, both run by BCRA. One in the lower mainland (June) http://www.bcprecisionrifle.com/ and one on Vancouver Island on Thanksgiving weekend. Both are/were listed on the BCRA website.

I am planning on holding at minimum 2x1 day Precision Rifle matches on Vancouver Island in 2015, as well as a number of practices in conjunction with Service Rifle.
 
My 2015 request has just gone in. I am requesting 10 range days on the Island (between Feb 28 and Nov 7th, pending approval) including 6 practice days (open to both SR and PR shooters), 2x 1 day SR matches and 2x 1 day PR matches. I am trying to get the SR and PR matches to be on the same weekend for those interested in attending both.

Will do ARH77. As Gunnerlove said these events are shot on unknown distance ranges out to 1000m or more. All shot on steel. We have the capability but just not the space. YET.

Will these matches also include improvised shooting positions? i.e. off of barricades etc.? Also any chance of doing it up in Kamloops? I don't live up there but I would be willing to travel for sure and from what I here they run cowboy actions matches out of their range as well as rimfire rifle matches and I heard from a member up there that they are trying to expand their 500m range to 1000m. Also I am very interested in this as well ;)

Last year at the Vokes event there was one stage that was prone with no bi-pod and one stage that was using your partners shoulder. All the rest was regular prone (unless I'm forgetting one).

At the Vancouver Island event there was one stage sitting free hand and one stage off your partners shoulder. The ones on the island were extra difficult because there were 2 shots per 6 second exposure and the sitting freehand one was moving targets. Shooting movers, sitting, freehand, twice in 6 seconds.... it really made me wish I had a lighter rifle. Finding that sight picture on the second shot after cycling the bolt was very difficult. Both were super fun and challenging.

There were no barricades or anything like that last year. I think the problem is more of a logistical one, having the events run smoothly and quickly is difficult with all those shooters and targets to organize. And then there is always some unknown delays that happen, at Vokes it was a stupid deer that kept walking into the middle of the rifle range over and over again.

With it shooting at the military range everyone needs to be at the same firing line, so different shooting stations doesn't really work very well. Add into that needing to build, setup, and removed 10+ barricades for just 1 or 2 stages it makes it difficult logistically.

After seeing all the work the volunteers had to do make the event happen last year I really appreciate their effort and understand why extra stuff on top of it like barricades is asking a lot.

I think barricades and such would be more practical if it was at a range where they could be left setup.

But I'm a nobody, Will, Ryan, Paul, Ed, Ed, etc all know better then I do the difficulty in planning and running these events.
