What makes your rifle a precision rifle? I just got rid of my Savage .243 and decided I want something new. I bought a Savage short action, chambered in 6.5 Creedmore with a heavy barrel (fluted) and I'm waiting on my MDT Chassis system. Really excited for that! Also putting on a Leupold VX-3i LRP Rifle Scope. Does this make my new rifle a precision rifle?

Precision rifle is a phrase used to describe any bolt action that is:
a) at least twice as much money as a factory Remington or Savage
b) usually out of stock, so expect to do a lot of waiting after you order

I disagree with the above statement, I hope it was a joke, but non the less.
Any rifle you use to make precise shots can be a precision rifle, your 243 could of been a precision rifle if you spent some time on ammo selection and time behind the trigger!
I’ve had 200$ Rifles that shot extremely well and ones that cost 10x that,
with time almost all of them will shoot!
