Hey there Gun Nutz,
I recently picked up a kidd/dlask 10/22 build and I’m looking to get into prs style shooting with it. I threw a vortex diamondback tactical 4-16 ffp (off my hunting rifle) on it and took it shooting out to 100 yards but I’m not content with it for spotting 22 cal holes. Im looking for a scope up to $1000 preferably with a 30 moa mount as I have a 0 moa rail, that has at least 24x magnification. I’d like to hear some recommendations from the pros on here and maybe if there’s anything worth waiting for to be released. From the content I’ve seen there doesn’t seem to be too much for new rifle scopes at shot show this year.

Cheers,

Very happy with my 5-30 bushnell Match pro ED, however it is a 34mm main tube.
I’ve seen some good stuff about them as well but they seem to be goin for around $1200 which is a little out of my budget. 34mm tube is probably a must for the extra adjustment.

You can't see the holes with 16x? Maybe change the color of the paper?

Last year the best answer was Arken EP5 5-25x56.
This year there is a slightly updated version of it called the DNT 7-35x56.
I like both of these scopes, and am curious if anyone can compare them against the Match Pro ED that seems to get a lot of love too?

Both good options. However for 22LR, just be aware that the parralax is really only good for 25 yards and greater. I found the Arken to not be very forgiving at closer rimfire ranges. May ir may not be an issue if doing ammo testing or just shooting for groups at a shorter indoor range.

A similar product although not as cool looking is the Discovery ED line. The ED 5-25 PRS is very comparable to the EP5 when behind the scope. A bit longer and not as tactical looking but Chinese scope with Japanese ED glass. I only recommend the ED glass versions. Same with the Arken.

The Discovery Parralax is better for rimfire at 15 yards to infinity vs the Arken at 25 yards. There is a misprint for the elevation. It’s 32 mil like the Arken, not 15 as listed. There are two companies selling them In canada. $580 Canadian.

I like the Arken halo rings. I tend to use those instead of the discovery brand ones.

I use the Arkens on tactical precision rifles and the Discovery on budget precision, less tactical looking rifles or rimfire.

There is also a 5-40x 35mm Discovery with ED glass. 35mm is harder to find decent price effective rings/mounts. Comes with 1.5” high rings that are ok. Same as the 5-25. It’s $590.

Look at the Element Helix, available in FFP, 2 reticules to choose from, Parallax adjustable down to 10 yards, 30mm tube, under $1000.

I have one on my precision 22 and it's been great.

I’ve run a few different models of the Athlon riflescopes and been impressed with them and they are reasonably priced and within your budget.

While the cheap ones work (I used a 300$ Nikko sterling a few years back) nice glass makes a world of difference. If you can go towards the top side of your budget a pick something there.

Heard lots of good about Arken/DNT as well but never handled or used one.

I will admit that more expensive glass is nicer and I’m currently in the process of changing things out it takes time and allot of money… however it did take me a few years to make a decision like that. I currently have more rifles than optics due to that cost….

I’m planning to try something from Europe next as I’ve been dabbling with the Japanese stuff both in riflescopes and for camera gear.
