Precision semi auto options, help please

Walther makes what you are looking for WA### in 300wm. Price may be a bit of a hurdle. combining semi and accuracy is a costly venture. You won't find an off the shelf product you like within your budget,

Had a friend with a WA2000 back in the day, if I remember the model number correctly. That was a nice rifle. - dan

The comment regarding the Walther got me curious so I did some web surfing and found a website that lists sniper rifles etc that are made in many countries of the world - Not a comprehensive list as it doesnt includes all the small specialty gunsmithingshops /manufactures, but interesting to see the guns from quite a few countries listed in one place.

I dont mean to hijack the thread but it may provide some possible alternatives.

Last I checked the Walther was +3000 plus, and I some how have a feeling it's prohib. I could be very wrong on this though.

What about doing some thing crazy, you said you want crazy. Buy and build an M14, stick some high end components from
TRW or equivilant on it. And then have a gun smith re barrel it in .260. Stick it in a EBR or Blackfeather stock and your off to the races. Top it off with optics of your choice and you have a auto loader with decent accuracy and custom built. It's not a magnum round but you could carry power out to 1000+yards and it would be a lot flatter shooter then a .308.

As for Armstech, getting one exported from the US will not be as easy as a standard commercial rifle. They are controlled under ITAR, and as they are used by the US military Arms Tech is not keen on even exporting parts, like thier detachable mag kits. Your best bet would be to find one already in private hands, as AT only sells to the public when they are not busy with US DOD orders. The legality of getting one out of the US is another issue. (I know myself and another person on here were willing to buy when they next had spares, but AT shut the conversation (even for parts) down firmly, polietly, but firmly).

The BAR is by Brownings own view a 1-2moa gun. 2 MOA is the high end of thier accuracy, but there down is considered acceptable.

LOL, the WA2000 has been out of production for ages, north of 20 years, so dont hold your breath. As for the $ amounts people are musing about, in the US they are north of 30K, the last one offered here in Canada I saw was a 308, and the guy wanted 20-30000$.

The last cheap precision auto loader in 300wm I saw was the Voere, and its still not cheap. 308s are a different story, but gas guns in magnums are harder to come by, or restricted when done on AR platforms.

WA 2000 should be non restricted and are not made anymore, there are few privately owned ones in north America and their price is more like in the 50,000 range.

you made a good choice with the fn. they have been making semis for some time and have it down pat. hope you find one soon. dont be afraid to buy new. if you wan a value optic top it with a meopta. not common in canada but great glass for the price.

So I thought I would do a final update. I ended up with an fnar 20" and just absolutely love it. Had to import it from USA and wait almost 2 mth but it was worth it. I can ring a 6" gong at 200 meters 5 times in 5 seconds. You should have seen the guys faces at the range. Le look was like wtf is going on over there. Lol. Came with a cheap centre point scope which I will replace with something good but for now it is working excellent with no shift of 0 at all. Love this rifle. Excellent quality.

There ya go, added it to the thread for ya ;).

Good find, hope you enjoy. I look forward to some accuracy and load results, I've heard lots of good things so far but never from someone with a precision shooting background.
