Precision/Sniper/Tactical

OK, here it is. Im new to this, but think I have a solid foundation to learn with now. Rem 700 AAC SPS Tactical in .308 (20in) with a Vortex Viper PST ffp 6-24x50mm sitting on Warne steel tactical 20 MOA base and held by some leupold 30mm steel PRW rings.

Once I get some ammo down the tube to sight in and take a baseline, Stock and Muzzle brake will follow. We will see how the rings work, i wasn't keen on them, but bought them anyway, their look is growing on me.

Thanks for all the questions that were answered in my quest for my first medium/long range. Much appreciated.

ps. I forgot to put the bolt back in when I took these pictures. Looks a little funny. opps.

Not nearly as nice as most these, but here's my rig:

This years setup. Howa 1500 Varmint .308 bedded in a B&C A2 with magazine box removed for firing single shot. Went with a Timney 1.5lb trigger and a Bushnell DMR 3.5-21X50 sitting in NF Ultralite 34mm med rings and Burris XTB bases this year and so far I'm lovin it.

I really like this rifle. I've noticed that you've had this rifle for a while and it seems to have remained relatively the same. I also see guys selling their TAC21's for other chassis' quite a bit. Have you been happy with the TAC21?

Hit me up with a PM and I will answer your question the best I can. ;)

Nah, Boyds walnut. The finish was so ####ty it just looked brown. Plus it was not smooth at all. I used heirloom finish remover and then worked it all with 0000 steel wool until the wood was perfect. Several coats of Tru-Oil and steel wool in between with a bees-wax coat and now it looks like a walnut stock should. Bedded it as well. I think its pretty, not really tactical/precision though.

Well it has been a busy wildfire season but I finally managed to get out with a few rifles and put some rounds down range.
