Well I hope this counts as joining the sniper style club.

I just put a down payment on the Remington Model 700 VSF Left Handed, 26" Heavy Fluted Barrel in .308. I put a post in the Precision riffle section asking for help. Please see my other post for details.

Anyways. Here is a picture of the Remington Model 700 VSF. I will post actual pictures of my riffle once I get it. I still have a few payments to make first.

Here is a link to the Remington Web-Page for complete details on the riffle.

Jasonmack,

Out of this world, congrats on that, but I sure would love to be there when you take that first shot with that Tasco and watch it explode when you pull the trigger.

My digital camera takes very limited video on it but I will surley have it running in case some freak airborne scope incident occurs. If I really drive the crap out of this Mack I might get home in time on Sunday to try it out.

Steyr Tactical Elite. 308, full length Picatinny (Spec) rail, two (perfect, easy to load) mags, 3lb two stage trigger, UIT rail, etc, etc.
Wearing an IOR 10X56 (MP8), in KAC rings.
Bipods are a Versa Pod with skis, and a Parker Hale with flat feet (Thanks to Pete at Hirsch Precision for the PH).

I threw enough pictures in the Steyr thread, I won't duplicate them all here.

nice looking rig dosing, it almost looks tiny, but its probably just the angle of the picture, but how long is the rifle, overall?

It does depend on the angle. I have some pics of Striker and BMW shooting it where it looks positively huge.

OAL is 42.5 inches. The barrel is only 22.
Additionally the huge scope (a 56mm) makes it look smaller, at least to me.

Was I seeing things or did someone have a pic posted in this thread of a rifle with a
Boyds Target Varminter stock (pepper laminate). I think it was a rem in .243 or
22-250. Or was it a Savage??? Oh hell I can't remember. Loved the pic though and
would like to get another look at that stock.

Very very nice rigs on here ... few quick questions, anyone here with a straight shooter out of the box with no mods/upgrades? What do you consider a precision/sniper/tactical in a rifle?

There are alot of options out there in seeking a great shooter straight out of the box. My personal recommendation in keeping it simple, accurate, and at a reasonable price would be a Savage LE2B (love mine). Many will attest the same here as you can see!!!
