Predator hunters winter gear??

i guess im the only one that has cotton that keeps you warm:confused:

-old school top and bottom long johns
-khaki pants then normal camo pants
-t-shirt, long sleeve, hoody, insulated camo coat

the most important things are good boots, gloves and especially a good hat or balaclava.

too often guys will wear too much clothing thinking they will be uber warm but then they sweat and freeze their ass off on stands.

Cotton is a great insulator when its dry, as soon as there is moisture, it traps in the cold. Wool is the best insulator there is, works even when wet.

Holy ####e, i sat out in the snow the other day for about an hour, it wasnt too bad, only -32, its that dam wind that froze me. I had under armour, long johns, my Remington jacket, snow pants, ski doo boots, my ass was frozen, and my feet almost fell off, LOL

Glad i left my truck running on the road, brrrr

Next time im going to stand, or bring something to sit on LOL

I usually start with a long john base, with sweats over them and then carhartt bib overalls on the bottom. A t-shirt, then hoody, then carhartt jacket on top, on the extra cold mornings, i add an insulated vest to the mix. This is all covered up with fleece snow camo. The carhartt stuff isn't too bulky, but that's because it is 3 years old and well worn. Seems to keep me warm enough, and when it is super cold, i just shorten my sets.

i wear fleece baselayer, down insulation layer (850 fill), goretex shell covered by tyvek painter's coveralls. I wear my -100 oil rig boots on my feet.

Nothing insulates as good as down.

Warmest parka I've ever worn is a Snow Goose Resolute....they make a white one but you can use cover ups if that is a concern. Never used a Snow Mantra but they look good as well.

Decent boots, good layering and snow pants and you're good to go.
