preferred 22mag ammo?

my father just bought a savage 22mag and has only tried remington psp's so far. is there a brand of ammo that seems to be more accurate than others in general? i know its best to try different loads but he is cheap so it wont happen...lol.

my 17hmr loves hornady but hates remington so i was curious is 22 mag is kinda the same.

I know this sounds stupid, but do NOT buy the Remington. In a box of fifty, I always seem to get about 2 FTF. The cheap-ass FMJ that I picked up at the mart for about 7 bucks for a box of 50 shoots like a champ, although accuracy isn't the best.

I prefer the Winchester Super X 40 grain JHP. Works geat for me, normally under 3/4" at 100 Yards.

CCI mags in my Norinco. Can hit a nickel at 100 yds. consistently. Used to use Win. Dynapoints until I hit 4 misfires in a clip of 5.Shot off the rest of the box and not a misfire. Don,t want to chance it again

When I had one (norico bolt) it was the Winchester supremes (black box) and federal 50 gr load.

As mentioned, grey box winchester 40 gr HP , excellent, and the CCI are working not to bad in my CZ.

Federal 50gr followed by the Wincheser 40gr group best in my 22mag rifles.I have owned quit a few 22mag rifles and can tell you the CCI maxi mags are crap for accuracy.Even cheapy Winchester dyna-points are better.
