Pregnant spectator

Sure sound travels though water and solids very well.

BUT

When sound travels from one medium to another much of it is reflected.

I doubt that much of the sound even reaches the baby.

Go to a pool , take two shot glasses with you, go underwater , tap them under water with you , now get someone to tap them above the water while you are under water.Tell me what you find. ;)

OR stick your head up a cows arse get your buddy to fire a 30-30 beside the cow.Tell me what happens there. :) You will look petty silly stuck behind a cow with your head up it's arse doing 27.8 Mph.

AFAIR, it's been tested on sheep, but with howitzer-like sounds level (170dB), which is a 10-fold difference to pistol cartridges (capping around 160dB, except for a few magnum ones).

FWIW, here is some interesting noise level data: hxxp://ftp.rta.nato.int/public/PubFullText/RTO/TR/RTO-TR-HFM-147/TR-HFM-147-03.pdf

With all the nasty stuff floating around the air at a range I would recommend against it. I wouldn't even clean my guns in the house when my wife was pregnant just because of the fumes from the solvent.
