Premature wear on Marlin 795?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
I ordered a Marlin 795 form Wholesale Sports a couple of weeks ago. It's my first gun, so I was pretty stoked when it arrived and I've put about 400 rounds through it at this point.

I have noticed some wear in the receiver, specifically paint chipping off the housing nearish to the chamber. Is this something that I should be worried about? Is there maybe something I can adjust or do to prevent this from getting worse? Or am I being a little paranoid?

I'll be back in about an hour to provide more details and ask some more questions.

that paint on mine is chiping as well but it seem like its more of and overspray than anyting else on mine. I would be more concerned if the paint on the outside of the receiver was chiping off, or metal shaving were coming off from the inside of mine.

As stuff breaks in it will wear. That is nothing to be worried about.

Yeah definitely no worries there. I have the same thing on mine. Thousands of rounds and no sign of issues of any kind with the gun. Best value gun I own. Have fun!

Not an issue. I saw that the first time I cleaned mine, so I took a fine 3M polishing pad and "sanded" the inside, top of the receiver. What was left of that over-sprayed paint fell off, I cleaned, lubed, and put it back together. I'm sure the gun will run with or w/o the TLC I gave mine though.

Thanks for the feedback gents! I think I might polish off the over-spray for piece of mind.

I agree with you guys, I love this rifle. I'm stoked to get some gear on her and see what I can do.
