Bought my first Swarovski Z3 3 years ago - this would be my first choice. Leupold would be second. Spending the extra $100 on the Z3 Swarovski over the equivalent Leupold is worth it as the superior Swarovski lenses come through especially at first and last light there is a difference. Premium rifle and cheap optics - bad choice.
Here's my jest on optics.
Each and every one has the characteristics of a female.
They all have the parts typical of the norm.
Each and every set of eyes reacts differently to what is offered.
Find what works for your eyes.
Size of ocular, size of objective. Higher the quality, less chance of
fogging up and the rest of the low end disappointments.
I have owned good and not so good quality of an assortment of brands.
Four X at a hundred yards/meters doesn't seem to find the tight group with
my eyes. Then again, Mr. H has a 2.5 I would give a kidney for. Why?
Dunno, dang thing works for me.
Don't forget, shooting at paper off a bench happens to call for tighter groups.
Pie plate at a hundred meters leaning off a stump and dropping fur, priceless.

USO is the real cream of the crop. Thing is, they're custom built so there's nothing not to like except for maybe the weight. Possibly the most rugged precision scope out there and made in the USA. Probably overkill for hunting purposes but,, since you asked .

I have had the opportunity to look through some fine scopes at Connaught ranges mostly long range F class scopes, Schmidt Bender, Leupolds, Sightron S111, Nightforces including the new competition 55x, US Optics and March 80x could see bullet holes from a .308 at 600 meters in the black,and the best glass I have used hands down for a hunting scope is this scope is stunningly clear

Gets my vote as well.
If your budget allows, go for the top of the line optics. Consider that you'll probably own this scope for the rest of your life. I use Kahles (1 from 1964, had it factory refurbished, just like new!) Swarovski , and Ziess scopes. Well worth the money and the optics are fantastic.
