Hi guy,

Thanks for all the advise on the grip tape,,,NOW

How do I prepare the surface for the tape to be applied on the body above the trigger guard without damaging the surface protection.

Black Shadow 2 is the pistol.

I was thinking Isopropyl alcohol(rubbing alcohol)

Thanks

Clean it up and use a heat gun.
Makes the tape stick and is the only way mine will stay on.
If you shoot often enough you will replace the tape fairly often.
I love it on the front and back strap of my shadow.

I use Isopropyl or MEK, whatever is handy at the time. It's like any adhesive, just make sure the surface is free of any oils and dry. Scuffing it up a bit helps. Like Rust said it will need to be replaced occasionally, how often depends on use/abuse. I think I replaced one piece last season on my old gun, and starting with a new gun this spring, I haven't had to replace any yet. I've never used a heat gun but I'll definitely try that next time.

That all I did on my SPO1. Put a piece forward of the slide stop.

I degreased it, and used a blow dryer.
