Prescription shooting glasses

My only problem is with the Rx lens behind the colour lens is your Rx insert lens is normally a far bit smaller than the colour lens on the outside. When you have your face down on the stock and looking up waiting for the bird you're normally looking through the top part of your lenses. The inserts in my mind wouldn't be able to utilize the full colour lens. Plus it's just easier with one lens you're not messing around with 2.

The reason I went with Decot is because...
1. I would say 80% of the guys at the club I go to have them Rx or plano. Everyone I talked to at the club loved them just I just bit the bullet and glad I did it.
2. The whole coloured lens is the Rx meaning anywhere I look on that lens I will be able to see.
3. The price was really reasonable for the kit.

Decot to me is the way to go and if my Rx changes I would order a new pair in a heartbeat.

I ordered them right from Decot online. I thought why involve a middle man.

I was really shocked on how fast they came. I have my lenses at my door in 10 work days from when I ordered them. My expectation was 20 working day.

I will say I wish I ordered them when the our dollar was better because I cried a little when the order went through because of exchange rate.

Were you able to just send them your prescription and measurements?
I have to wear RX and currently run the ESS with insert, I would like to get away from using the inserts because of the limited FOV as mentioned.

When you pick the lenses or packages you want you then pick Rx and enter in the info.
For frame size it goes by cap size. I called their 1-800 number and he told me how the sizes work.
 
I have worn glasses for the last 45 years, and switched to contacts 2 years ago, so I wouldn't have to
keep buying prescription lenses for my Rangers. The best thing I've ever done. I got some Pilla shooting
glasses, and haven't looked back. You have to spend some time with your optician to get the contacts
right, but well worth the effort. You want the best focus at 35 to 40 metres, and take time to get what you want.
 
I get my decot lens from Allen Lehmann optical. He's in Arizona.
I've dealt with him for 25+ yrs. He's fast and he is a competitive shooter he knows his stuff. I've had lens's mailed to me and received them in Ontario in a week.

I've done the contact lens thing with Plano glasses and it's OK ,but my eye hate me after I take the contacts out. I look like I got pepper sprayed.

I don't require prescription lenses and have been entirely happy with Decots ... straight from the supplier, also in Arizona.

My wife. who does require prescription lenses has been very happy with Randolph Rangers ... she gets very good sevice from Morgan Optical in Olean, NY state.
Just send (call or e-mail) your prescription from your Optometrist and within about a week you'll have what you need. Check their website for more details.
 
I had great results recently with Barry C Nolt in Edmonton. He is a optometrist and avid sporting clays shooter so he understands the principles and requirements of a target shooter quite well. He ran me through a thorough eye exam, checked my current subscription (ran my glasses through some kind of machine?) against his findings and was 100% honest saying my eyes hadn't changed and there was no reason to sell me new lenses. Then he had me assemble my gun, mount it, checked for fit, ran a few tests and determined my issue was cross dominance. He then set up my glasses with a shooting dot properly and now I can seeproperly down the gun to shoot again. He came highly recommended by a few real good shooters out here and it was worth the trip to Edmonton and the downtown traffic and underground parking to go for the assessment. From what I could tell he carried Pilla, Ranger and Decot as well.
 
Thank you everyone for the replies. I went to the optometrist and they only carried Wiley x shooting glasses. I got them with vermillion prescription lenses. So far I have been extremely happy with them they are very comfortable and have found that the lenses have been versatile for both darker days and lighter days.
 
oakley ballistic series is the only impact resistant ANSI approved for ballistics prescription optical I believe. It's what I own and everyone I know uses. Cost is about $600.
 
Please send me more info on which model you chose. The info in your post doesn't tell me much. Do your shooting glasses sit high on your face. I use zenni optical but so far have not found anything suitable on their website. Thanks in advance Jack
 
I just received my Dtechsportsrx prescription shooting glasses with three sets of lenses and I must say I like them. They are light and fit comfortable. I had to squeeze the nose pieces because I like them to sit a little high. The arms can be adjusted too by bending them. I recommend them.

BTW, I have my Decot HY-WYD non-prescription shooting glasses with three sets of lenses for sale on "Exchange of Optics and Sights".
