I'm looking at getting back into reloading after over 25 years. In the past I reloaded for rifle and shotgun, a single stage RCBS for the rifle, and a Mec Junior for the shotgun. Now I'm looking at reloading for a 9mm. Things seem to have come a long way since then!
I've been looking at the Lee 1000. Anyone had much experience with them? They seem to be a lot cheaper than anything else, any quality issues? Reliability?

How many rounds a year do you figure you'll shoot of 9mm?

The Lee progressive presses are common, but not of the best quality. Many users go on at length about how great they are, and then list the multiple ways they keep them in operation. If you are doing just a few thousand a year, have fun. If you are doing even less, you can probably get by with your trusty single stage equipment.

If you are loading more than 500 rounds a month, it's probably worth your time to look at Dillon or Hornady.

I agree with Canuck223 here. I have a Lee Load Master which has a similar rep as the Lee 1000. Priming issues are common and they can be overcome, but you will need to be a handyman to keep your press running smooth in most cases.

The Lee's are ok, but you have to know what you're getting into with them.

The other presses are more expensive, but they are also more reliable.

I'm just getting back into the shooting sports after many years away. I really don't know yet how much shooting I Will be doing, but hoping it will be a fair bit. Rounds per week/ month/ year? I could let you know this time next year! All I know is it is easy to go through $50 in a short period of time. Some I have talked to say 9mm is cheap enough to buy that it's not worth reloading. I need to find their sources.
