I have been thinking of a new press come up with a chose of these two a Redding Ultramag 700 or a Forester Co-Ax which one is better and why, I require a very large press do to the fact a am reloading for the 338 edge and 416 rig need the room Thanks for the input.

Have the C0-Ax and am delighted with it, I load 223, 38 Special and 45 ACP.. one advantage is the self centering Shell holders that are free floating.
Very little effort is required to operate especially with the optional short handle (I can sit).

Spent primers go right into the holding cup and not on the floor..

+1 for the co-ax. It's all I've used and I won't be changing. It's a very well made piece of equipment. The only other press I'd look at is the one ATRS is building. It looks much nicer than the co-axe but over twice the price.

I'd go with the co-ax, the way it is designed it has way more mechanical advantage , will make sizing the larger cases a breeze . Ordering one myself

While the Co-ax has a mechanical advantage for resizing large cases, it is equally as frustrating seating large cases.

I would suggest to the OP if you are reloading larger cases ie. .338 Lapua, 300 RUM... go with the Ultramag, if you are only reloading for smaller calibres ie. .308 Win, .223 the Co-ax is a great press.

I'm with ivo, go for the Redding.
The Co-ax is a heck of a press, but that big case isn't going to leave much room.
The other thing that may be more important, the handle is in the right spot on the Redding.
Granted, my shoulder is pretty much ruined, but reaching up and pulling down on the Co-ax handle gets painful after resizing ~100 rifle cases. Locking an elbow and just leaning into it is more comfortable. Especially with a big case like the Rigby.

Please don't get me wrong, the Co-ax is a heck of a press, but maybe not the best for your needs.
If you find you don't like the Ultramag, I know where you might be able to trade it for a Co-ax with all the goodies ;)

I have done a bunch of reading on line and both seem great the forester looks very impressive as well as the Redding don't believe one over the other will product better rounds, leverage with both is not a issue the forester may have the floating dies not sure how that comes into play if built true alignment should be straight, the Redding has a larger opening for the rounds that I am doing.

call alberta tactical rifle supply their large press is the best, I have seen the quality in person and would buy one for your needs,

seriously, look on their website and then decide, not cheap but very great quality and it will last,

much better than others, you almost have to see it in person to believe it and I am not a supporter of canuck stuff unless it is better than the rest, and in this case it is by far.

i had a look at their press no doubt its nice but for twice the price and the thought that they sell the Redding ultramag press as a runner up seems to be the best second at half the price, don't think i will notice any difference in the rounds down range!

yes you are correct about pricing but to see this press in the flesh and being used is a dream, I likel nice stuff and my benchrest equipment is second to none, also inventing some shoooting stuff has led me down the garen path to quality and the ATRS press is quality first class, seeing is believing,

as they say the price of the product is long forgot when the quality of what is produced is finished for all to see, buy once and cry once,

later and if you ever get to see one in person let us know your thoughts as I thought the same way before seeing one in person
