The action cycle of these rifles is so fast that a case can be extracted from the chamber before it has fully expanded. It's one of the reasons why it's sooo important to properly resize your brass to avoid the possibility of an out of battery fire and ensure flawless feeding. This could explain why your fired cases won't chamber.
Now you have me curious. I was having problems with the gas piston, the first half inch of stroke it was very sticky and that is why it wouldn't cycle. Guy beside me said the Op Rod didn't even wiggle. I have since been polishing it down and seem to be making progress. I might pick up another box of it and see if it was cases that ejected that went oversize, or cases that didn't eject. Can just turn the gas off to control it.
