Looking at the 1886 Winchester in 45-70 and the 1895 Marlins , also in 45-70 . With 350's or 405 gr bullets , can a new Winchester be loaded as stiff as a Marlin .

The only answer I would trust would be from a good reloading manual. Lee manuals are on the higher side of powder grains, Hornady is more conservative with their loads. It no doubt could but why take a chance with 50,000 PSI in front of your face.

Lyman #49 has Marlin and Win 1886 loads together at a SAMMI max of 28000CUP, Hodgdon Has Marlin ONLY loads up to 40000CUP.
