Guy down the states is converting ruger 77s to look like this ,I think all it needs is a butter knife bolt handle and a two leaf rear sight.

I love my M77's, and I have much respect for pre war Mauser as well...... both solidly built guns..... and the m77 was based on the Mauser action.....

I fail to see the allure of making an m77 looks like a Mauser, when true mausers are available....

I can appreciate the work involved but never been a fan of the flat sides or schnabel fore end.
If he made the 77 to look like the English stalking rifle I'd be sending him a couple.

The concept is neat, but the style I would want to copy would be the Mauser Type A (first choice) or Type B (second choice). The forend and panels are a little too Germanic for my taste.

Added a ebony forend tip, and tang sight eliminating the safety? Anything else I'm missing?

I don't think so. The site mentioned lowering/thinning the comb, but not sure if this is required or is the tang site. I mostly like the shorter forend with the ebony tip.
