Price check for a No1 Mk5? (Not jungle carbine)

Let's not get carried away with value. I purchased an excellent all original, all matching example from a knowledgable collector for just over $2000.00 last year. While I was looking for one I noted many for sale on "Gunbroker" in the US, mainly in more original condition than the gun in question, at prices that would allow you to import one for around $2000.00, all in. Personally I would value the gun at around $1000.00 tops.

Last year Weatrifle was selling Mosins for 110 bucks now they are 190. Milsurp values are upside down, especially with the loonie where it is.

True enough! It just seems to me that in the search for these higher end or rarer rifles, patience is a virtue. Beauties like the one 5thBatt shows do come up from time to time and would be a good investment. It's so hard, as Desporterizer says, to put a value on a nice but obviously restored rifle like the one being discussed. You might end up paying more than the going rate for a good, original pre-WW1 or early WW1 No. 1 Mk III.
