Ok 2 quick questions;

1) What would fair market value be for this package. High-standard military model, with 22short barrel and slide, 3x22lr mags, 1x22short mag, bolt on compensator. Gun shows a bit of wear to the bluing. Could use a good cleaning.

2) This is from an estate so I know nothing about this gun. Do the tools in the picture belong to the gun? Here's a close-up;

Also, there is a whole pile of stuff from the estate to look through. Is there anything else (tools, accessories) that I should look for that would go with this gun??

Those two tools don't go with the Hi-Standard.

P.S.: But, if you go through the whole pile of stuff, you just might find a Type 56 carbine. ;)

I just paid $350 for a very similar setup. Came with 2 barrels both .22lr, compensator, and one mag, all in average condition.

I believe the "Y" shaped tool is for cleaning the lead build up out of the compensator. New High Standards came with this tool but I dont know if yours is an original.

Let me know if you want to sell one of the .22lr mags.

That is not the tool to clean out the comp.
They are very hard to find ,I have sold 40-50 Hi-Standard
over the years and have only seen 2 tools for the comps.

The prices are down on these at this time,
thou they are by far the best 22 pistol out there.
I have sold the 22short conversion units for $300.oo
in the box, mags are $ 40 these days
22lr gun and 2 mags 300-400.oo if in exc condition

I have the same set up, both 22 LR and Short mags and slide assembly. No tools though, in average condition. I would figure $500 or so as a fair price, although when my brother bought it back in the day (second hand), he paid $700. They are very accurate good guns, my wife loves shooting the one I have. - dan

Well just looking around on the net I was thinking Glenzo got a very good deal at $350 for the same set up. I cleaned this one up yesterday, not a 100% dismantle, but a decent cleaning. I sure does have a sweet trigger on it!

Thanks everybody.

Can you point me in the right direction to get some good mags for the Supermatic Military Trophy model? I bought an aftermarket Triple K mag but I cant get it to feed properly and my original mag is well worn.

I just checked in tonite and so this may be a bit late.
I have never had good luck with aftermarket mags.
I pick up what I can at gun shows.
5 years ago there where lots of these mags, last year
or so , don't see very many.
You can get new ones from the new hi standard in Texas,
thou I have never dealt with them and since all the USA /Canada
border b.s. I have gave up ordering from the States, thou there are
still lots that do, I am getting to old and tired to put up with all that.
At moment I can't help you, sorry, what I do have at present
is 2 22short mags for the slant grip olympics ( or conversion unit) (Used)
( Scarce= $$)
they will work in the mil. grips guns as the feed angle is the same on them
all, the differebce is the plastic ,or metal base for the mag release,
I have seen old ones with a piece added to use in the mew models and works fine.
I have 4 new l.r. and 2 new short mags, but I am hanging on to them for a nib victor c/w victor conversion unit I have:D
I do have good stock of all the small springs for these, out of firing pins,
and hammer springs thou.
Barry Marshall

P.S. Glenzo; I have never seen a orignal mag that can not be made to work
all long as it has not been filed on.
you can down load a wed page from Hi- Standard on the mags
and what the specs are for the feed lips, and how to set them.
I could scan it, but have no idea how to post it here:confused:
P.M. me if you want more info. Will be few days before I can check.

That looks like a High Standard Trophy or could be when they upgraded the Citation to Trophy, bar a little gold magazine release part back in the 50s or 60s. Both identical.

It should sell for $350.00 to $400.00 without question. The drawback is obtaining parts for the older models. i have a Trophy that has locked up with the hammer locked ---going to take time to find out what is wrong & correct it. Fortunately I have a Victory as well, for that was their top model.

Like other said tools do not match the High Standard.

Mine must be extremely rare then, it says military on the side.....;)

"Military" refers to the grip angle. This type of grip mirrors the Colt 1911.

Trophies, Citations & Tournaments were made with both Slant grip & military style grip frames.

Pfft! And all this time I thought I knew everything!;)

I guess you are never too old to learn.
