Price check? Marlin 56 lever

Just came into an awesome Marlin 56. Wondering what the value of these are since you can't really find them for sale anywhere. It's it 90% + condition with the original Marlin clip.

Nope. Only other of interest he had was a single shot lever 20ga. On second thought should have bought that too....

$400 medium condition, $600-700 for excellent condition. I've owed a few, really good shooters but never ever dryfire it, it wil break the firing pin, as in like quick. Western Gunparts has spares however, and if you need to take it apart send me a PM or check Marlin levers on RFC.

I picked up one awhile back,traded the guy an old norinco 870 clone I had. Real nice short throw on them. Saw a magnum version today at the Waverly show...rough shape and the guy was looking for close to 5 bills.

Hmm. I thought they were on par if not a bit better than the model 39a. Guess I should have looked around, but when you see something that never comes around you gotta grab it.

No, the 39 is a cut above in my books, but the levermatic is still a great rifle. That said 39's are priced way out of reality these days. No way are they really worth what some people are asking for them. Just a few years ago they were selling for about $500 used give or take. I bough one for $450 and made a few buck when I sold it. Now I see people asking over a grand. Don't know what happened there...
