A good friend passed away earlier in the year, and his firearms were passed on to me to sell. Not sure what they're worth, so I figured I'd ask here. Any opinions would be appreciated.

First is a Browning High Power safari grade rifle? In 270 Win, made in Belgium, I believe in 1966 (Based on what I got from proofhouse)
It's in reasonable condition, with the exception of the barrel. Unfortunately the barrel got wet, and has a fair amount of rust pitting as a result. Also has a Tasco (Made in Japan, lol if that makes it any better) fixed 4x32 scope on it.

Second is a Winchester 94 1867-1967 Canadian Centennial, obviously in .30-30. 20" octagon barrel on it. In Very good condition.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I think that if you get $350 for either rifle you're doing well. The 270 had been neglected nd the finish shows it. The 94 is just a Post 64 94 with some engraving. If you find someone who collects these things maybe you could get more but you would need to have the box and hang tags. Otherwise it's just a shiny shooter.

Winchester made around 90,000 Canadian centennial models, so they are not very rare. I traded an NIB with all the paper work for S&W 686-3 revolver, thought I did pretty good.

For the little they are worth it would be nice of the family to gift them to you as a momento of your friend and your friendship with him.

Well, I'm planning on hanging onto the winchester, but I'd like to get a value so I can give fair value to his widow, also a good friend.

$350 is plenty fair for that 94 and I wouldn't feel bad about giving her that price if I wanted it and she was a friend. But when you can get a Pre64 M94 for $450 I wouldn't go any higher than $400 on the commemorative, and even then you're taking it in the shorts to do her a favour.
