Price check on 1928 Winchester 3030

It's difficult to estimate without pictures and more info.
Is it all complete, anything missing or broken ?
How is the wood, any serious chips or cracks, any rust ?
How is the bore, visibly good rifling ?

If it is in good shape it is worth from $500 and up. Pics are required for any intelligent estimate. Pre WW2 Winchesters are worth a little more than 1945-1964 production, fit and finish being marginally better on them. If it were my great-grandfathers rifle I would buy it myself.

I just bought a like new 1976 for $400 shipped to my door. It shoots amazing! 3 shots in a tea cup at 100 meters amazing with the irons and 150gr soft points!
But the pre 64 ones are apparently better or something. The price on the model 94's seems to be rooted as much in the overactive imaginations of their holders as it does in solid features. When I was looking for mine, I encountered people trying to sell stock field grade post 64's in decent condition for as high as $800 and they refuse to come down in price.....
There's idiots everywhere I guess.
If yours is in very good shape it could go for anywhere between $500 and $800 depending on if the right person sees it and has the cash. You could be "one of those guys" and price it at $1,000 because of reason whatever" but you would be bumping your add over and over.
I personally wouldn't sell it if it was my dead grandfathers rifle for any amount of money but that's just me.
