Hey guys my uncle just had a few guns given to him by a widow and is looking to sell them for her, one is a Stevens 311 SxS and the other a Beretta A303 semi, any info on the value of these guns would be much appreciated. I did do a search in the EE and didn't come up with much. Thanks

Do a search in the Equipment Exchange to see what the asking prices are. Remember the prices posted don't necessarily mean they sell for that much.

Call around to local gunshops and see how much they sell/sold the same models for.

Compare and average all the prices and you have a good starting point.

the 311 is a two to four hundred dollar gun, depending on caliber, condition, what series it is, and any mods that were done to the barrels. I sold a mint 20 ga 311 early series for 400.00 last season.

I agree. I think with a 311, the bigger it is, the less its worth. Had a 12, the thing was a log. Have a 20, its a keeper. Partly because nobody would give me anything for it because I shortened the barrels, lengthened the butt, and put rifle sights on it for slugs. Now its a tack driver .

303 Trap has no bearing on a field gun price also its the same problems with the 303 as many other good shotguns that are not steel shot compatable if it has the mobile choke system that would add value to it if it does not value drops. I have seen them sit on gun store shelves for $400.

Why are they not steel shot compatible? My 3" 303 with mobil chokes shot steel just fine.

As I said if they have the mobile choke system then they are steel shot compatable and are worth more they were also made in a fixed choke version . Interesting on these forms how people like to climb all over someone first chance they get .

You either have a chip on your shoulder or you're the most sensitive person in Canada.

On topic, I traded a stevens SxS (think it was a 311) for a $200-250 value last year and it was in good condition.

Davemccarthy 707 First off the 303 is the first series that had interchangebale chokes the earlirer 300-301-302 AL2 were all fisked chokes also the 303 was avalibble in a fixed choke model I never said Win /64 could not shoot steel shot out of his gun he simply implied i said that . I 'm not sure what most guys on this site do for a living but I have been in the fireams industry since 1977 as a Sales rep. warrenty gunsmith and active shooter it is my life not a hobby I do not know everything or have all the answers but I do have a fairly solid background in the fireams industry.

Sorry... Didn't mean to cause a problem guess I read your post wrong.

I have 2 A301's and an A303. As far as I know, all A303's had the Mobilchoke. I bought a very gently used A301 at SIR in Winnipeg about 10 years ago or so when the lead shot ban came about. I paid $300, it was like new. Still happy about that deal !!! :)

I've since switched the 303's bbl. to the 301, as I much prefer 301's.

As far as steel shot out of fixed full choke, it would cost about $50 to get the bore opened to modified, problem solved.

I wouldn't advertise the 303 for under $600. Guys are getting $300 for a Chinese clone of an 870.

Check the US auction sites as well: Gunsamerica and Gunbroker. Prices in Canada are generally a bit higher.
