I saw a similar one at a show in Orangeville a couple of years ago, price was $300 and not too many people picked it up. They are no where near as desirable as the Swedish carbines. I'd say price to sell it at $200 or maybe $250 and let them haggle from there. Bore condition will be a large factor on price. Some "experts" aren't a big fan of the early Spanish steels that went into the early Spanish mausers - another thing that might make price a consideration.

It looks pretty good in your pictures. The Russian capture K98's I've seen for salearound 400 dollars ,seem kind of rough in comparison. It's got a classy Mannlicher stock, and the bluing looks good.Try $400-$500 and see what happens. That rifle looks quite good for it's age.Mausers are very popular as collectables.Start high. You can always lower it later.Better yet, hang on to it.It's not going down in value.

ThreeScrews is correct in stateing that their not as desireable as 98s.

You neglected to mention if all of the numbers on the rifle were matching or bore condition.

If all of the numbers match and bore condition is VG+ to EXC, I would value the rifle at $300 - $350. If it's non matching, VG+ bore, $225 - $325.

That being said, they are very accurate with the 175grn loads they are intended for and a dream to shoot as well.

You shouldn't have any trouble selling it, especiall if it's all matching. Just mho. bearhunter
