I was talking to one of my coworkers, and he mentioned he had some guns for sale, but was not sure what price to ask for them. One is a Taurus .38spl. another is an old army .38 S&W, and the other is an H&R 9 round .22 cal. top break revolver. He was wondering if anyone could give him a ball park on prices for these? I have seen them, they are old, but mint. Any idea on how much each could be sold for? Thanks!

$100 a piece, maybe more for the S&W depending on model and condition. - dan

Just curious Dan, why do you feel they would be so cheap? I figured around $250.00 for the .38's, and $150.00 for the .22. I have no real idea, just figured this would be a fair price for the guns, as they are close to mint condition.

For the Taurus in 38 Special even in really nice new shape I personally wouldn't be paying much. Try to find a similar model being sold in Canada or check in the states online for a ball park. But again I wouldn't pay much for a gun that you can't get parts for if there is a problem.

I don't think you will see many H&R guns that have high resale values. Check online with Google. $100 might be alright.

"old army .38 S&W" exactly what is this? Is it a S&W or something else in 38 S&W calibre? 38 S&W is quite different and smaller than 38 Special by the way.

Got any pictures?

No pics, but I did find a site that gave a good idea of what to expect, and your right, it isn't much! I hope he doesn't get too upset when I tell him the values! If I were to buy them, I wouldn't give him anymore than $350.00 for all 3 guns! Thanks again guys! Cheers!

Yes, and a .38 S&W chambered revolver will not fire .38 Special either by the way.

Those H&R top break .22's are really nice!

Your right on the .38's, and the .22! I didn't want to buy his .38 S&W, but I had thought about the .38 sp. I am still thinking of buying a new .357 when I buy his .22. That way I can shoot .38,.38+P and .357.:D

Gotta ask again.

What is it?

It is an old S&W.38 S&W caliber. All I know, is that is comes with an old military holster. I do remember it had an old military type rear adjustable sight on it as well. I will ask him the model, the next time I talk to him. I hope this was of some help to you! Cheers!
