Price check on S&W 586 and 686 (used, not new)

I find myself wanting a revolver more and more lately, and am possibly looking to pick one up. Namely a S&W 586-4 or 686-4, used not brand new.

Could you guys tell me what you think is a fair price for a used stock 586-4, and a used stock 686-4 in VG condition? I would be look for either a 5" or 6" barrel.

I have an idea of what used semis go for, and how well they hold their value, but I am totally clueless when it comes to revolvers.

586's usually go here for maybe $500-$600, 686's go for a bit more...say $600 to $700. Much better prices than new, and I think better made as well.

S&w 686

I got a Smith & wesson 686 in a 6" for $700.00 from a fellow CGN'r .
It was in exc,condition ... and shoots great by the way (can't beat that trigger) Good luck brother
