A friend of mine has a pre ww2 german luger her would like sell but has so idea what it is worth realistically, I have seen it and he is an armourer so if he says is A1 I believe it.
All the ser numbers match except for the mag and it comes with two as well, it comes with three boxes of ww2 ammo for the gun.
It is prohib.
in mint condition as far as I can, tell bore is bright and shiny
Any thoughts?
Hoping to get some pics soon.
Would he be better off to send it to the states to sell?

You need to find the manufacturer and year of manufacture for anyone to even guess at a price.

The Manufacturer seems to be Mauser Werke, but will have to see the
proofmarks to be sure. Can not be seen on picture.
It is a pre-war model made in 1938 .
Prices in that condition vary between $ 650,- to $ 800,-... if it was
not re-blued.
Give us a clear picture (markings) of the top of the toggle !

Not saying it can't be a re-blue, but the wear on the bluing showing on the pictures is consistant with holster wear.

Yes, indeed, after a closer look I can not see any attempt of pre-polishing
before re-blueing and I am now quite sure it never was re-blued.
Besides, Mauser and C.Walther never polished their guns when factory
re-blued and only used Muriatic Acid to remove the old blueing .

A beautiful piece of engineering and a joy to shoot.
Contrary to "popular belief", the trigger pull can be safely lightened.
It's all in the side-plate. Done it often . (in Europe and with my own ones.)

i lucked out I guess, mines pretty light to start with, maybe a previous owner fixed her up, but she's a good shooter. they are a lot of fun aren't they:)

Yes, most P-08 Pistols had good trigger pulls, but quite a few
were just a little "spungy". I am glad yours is not.
In comparison with a P38 in "single action" , the P 08 trigger is a delight.
I don't have one any more, but I miss them!
