Good day,

I've have a possibility to trade for a Remington Rand 1911A1 made in 1943. Condition has been described as very good, and proper RR frame and slide with a HIGH STANDARD barrel.

I know pictures are worth more then a description, but I don't have any yet, they will follow in the next day or so.

Is there a ballpark figure that someone could throw my way?

About $1,500+.

Only if it's original, decent condition, with correct small parts. If original, then condition will dictate value.

Good pics will determine what we are dealing with here.

And, just for example.... frame & slide should match. Slide script [one of 3 types found on Rem Rand mfg pistols] should be correct for the year frame was produced/assembled. Frame should have correct inspectors initials. Small parts should be correct for Rem Rand mfg pistol. Yes, it should have an "HS" marked barrel.

Pics, pics, pics.... :)

The "AA" marking indicates an Augusta Arsenal rebuild which I believe will lower the price to about $1000-1200 ish
Also the serial number indicates a 1944 build date according to coolgunsite.com "1944 starts at 1363700"

For comparison I tried to sell this original '44 for $1700 last year, but the highest offer I got was $1400, so I decided to keep it.

While the Remington Rand is the most common WWII USGI 1911A1, that said, they aren't making any more.

They used to be quite plentiful on the used market but seem to have dried up, like all the USGI stuff....

^^^^^^^

The one above is a late 1944 production [sn. 2,029,###] & not an arsenal rebuild.

The one here below is mid 1944 production [sn. 1,800,###] & also not an arsenal rebuild:

The following one is another late 1944 production [sn. 2,027,###] is an "SA" arsenal rebuild. But also has been modernly refinished & reworked into a "shooter" as was the ultimate fate of many USGI 1911A1.... :(
