I am asking as a dealer as we have a chance to get up to 100 of these(not that we would get that many) from a US distrbutor and I'm curious if its worth our while. I'm not that familiar with this type of firearm or what they might go for. Does anybody in Canada carry them?
 
Personally, I would rather buy a Marlin 45-70 and shoot it than to buy cheap copies and have to deal with thier rather empty warrantee promises. Also getting parts would be a real hassle. Not everyone wants to have to send thier gun to a repair depot for minor repairs. there are many single shot rifles circulating in the EE now that choices are very open.

In no way shape or form can you compare a Sharps (copy or otherwise) to a lever action.

Its like saying that of all .22's, a 10/22 is a better gun than a Olympic biathalon rifle just cuz there is tons of gunk you can buy to stick on it. Different purpose, design, concept, use, market all apply.

Just this one. its not something we normally stock but our distributor in the US has on special on this model. We'll only bring these if there is a fair amount of interest.
 
I don't have any Ubertis but I know quite a few fellows who have them and they all seemed to be pleased with the quality. As far as the Uberti Sharps, I'm afraid that I do not have the experience to suggest a good price. However, if they can compete in price with a Pedersoli, I would rather have the Uberti provided it is not a re-branded Pedersoli.
 
Sorry but i was not doing a comparison. These singles are really a one purpose rifle ( targets, etc.)...the parts to repair are very hard to come by( if you can get any from the USA) , and almost every gunsmith has a Marlin part or two to sell for easy, quick repair.

i have as much fun with my Marlin 45-70 shooting with the Sharpes and the like at our range and not nearly the costs nor headaches when something breaks. Most of the "single" shooters already have rifles they shoot( not much market left) , and the silhouettes go down the same for mine as the rifles costing 4 times as much, as well as the game it is pointed at. I shoot a Marlin 45-70 rifle . I have shot a Sharps and found it about the same recoil, just a different shape.
 
Early Uberti Rifles were made by Armi Sport and later Uberti Rifles are made by Pedersoli. The one that you have pictured is in the Pedersoli line advertised as the S.788 Sharps Long Range Rifle.
