I have a buddy that wants to sell me his Ruger Magnum in 375 H&H its a beautiful rifle with really nice wood. He said he paid 4000.00 for it and it comes with a leoupld VXIII.hes asking 3000.00. Is it worth it?

Ardent would know better but I've seen a few go in the $2000 range used in very nice condition. I believe they sold for well under $3000, probably $2200-$2400 or so off the shelf. I'm thinking that VX-III isn't worth the extra grand he's asking.
Recently paid $1,999.94 + tax for brand new M77 RSM Mark II Magnum in .416 Rigby. The 375 H&H and 458 Lott were same price, although I don't believe there are any more available.
New VXIII 1.5-5X set me back $518.45 - I also picked up a used model of the same scope for considerably less.
It may be difficult/impossible to find the rifle available but that still seems a little steep to me, IMO.

Is it here in PG? Because that place offered me a new RSM in .458 Lott a while back for $2150.
