Hi guys i think its time to move off my 35 whelen, Now i have a 30-06 i dont see the need for it, an some money would be nice...

About all i have to sell is this Ruger hawkeye, 2009 or so i bought it new, one of the mkii with LC6 trigger....

Anyway wondering what the go is for Selling the rifle as a Barreled Action only- 2 reasons. 1- the Factory has split between trigger an mag 2- the Ramline replacement is a chip off the end of the action/tang.....

I might be able to fix the ramline up a little bit cosmetically , an im not sure its worth 'fixing' the original but i may look into that more.

What my question is, What us the go for selling a Barrel Action only.....

Our Dollars Vary as do the pricing of Rifles, thus Hawkeye being somewhat a Rarity down under, means i should be able to fetch a little higher pricing for it on calibre alone............ or a few extra Hundred $ over say a 30-06.......... there just isnt many factory Whelens around here.

IIRC i bought it for like $1100 a decade ago, they go now days for $1300+ n not uncommon for 30-06 etc to fetch $800-$1000 online. complete .

If i can fix A stock, id like to put $1200 on it, what would you say is Fair Price for No stock just Barreled Action ready to put into a stock? Whats a fair Price?

Thanks

You might want to reconsider parting with your 35. I know I kicked myself for selling my first one. Such a great heavy-hitter with little recoil. I know the 30-06 is more than capable of harvesting anything walking on your island, but doing it with a classy 35 is kinda kewl.

Yeah for sure- i understand that-
my thoughts are I can re barrel the Left handed 30-06 into a 35 Whelen for if its what I really wanted-- having not used the Rifle diddly squat in the past Geez, i dunno 5-6 years? and last used it on a NT buffalo Hunt, it does hold alot of Sentimental but im starting to think I wont miss it- Im barely goin to use it- and my .30-06 could load with a Woodleigh 200-240 if need be- I wont be hunting Buffalo any time soon, that is for sure.

the Deer here are sorted with the 7-08/30-06 and out further with the 7 mag.... im also thinkin il sell the 7 mag Rem SPS too while i can, as i can always replace the long ranger down the track-- i feel like I could almost do what is intended with my little 7-08 an some practise / dial scope.....

Would possibly be down a bit now an then for selling off the Ruger with the factory 35 barrel................. but a Grand would do alot right now.

Grr- i need a more frequent job perhaps- summer is here, so less hunting an time to do some more workin- then i wouldnt have these issues i guess.

Thanks, ill see where i get too

Get another stock. There should be used factory one's available

i was in touch with one that is for sale online classifieds. its a 375 ruger stock , with crossbolt.. would be perfect. but wants $300 au....... an it was a spare , as he sold the rifle earlier.

not prepped to pay $300 to get SFA in return, thinkin i could 'lose' the $300 off the price though for someone else to deal with... boyds $$

difficult to find this sorta stuf here in au.

il keep an eye out tho
