As title says, I'm wondering what today's price is for a No 2 MK 1* Inglis Hi Power is. I would like to add one to my collection. For condition I would say good to very good with 3 matching serial numbers. Doesn't have to have a grip strap decal. Would like to shoot it on occasion. Thanks for the help, Ken

Honest question here: what makes the BHP worth that much for collectors and civy shooters ?

I’m asking because I was showing the EE to some of my friend and nobody could believe the prices asked for what we see as a useless chunk of metal that is better left in the vault.

Again, not trying to stir the pot, just want to understand what makes them collectible/desirable

A piece of Canadian wartime history..............that, and Inglis is not making them anymore.

Why would you believe it's a useless chunk of metal that is better left in the vault? It is reliable, fairly accurate, has some cool history, has the full 10rd capacity that is legally allowed, fits in the hand well (unlike many of the modern double stacks), and quality wise I consider it a step above most modern pistols. Basically its a 9mm 1911 with no grip safety and larger magazine capacity.

keep in mind that the few in civilian hands are in a lot better condition then the issued ones.

Mine is in great condition with about 20% of the original decal, and yes I take it out shooting a few times a year.

I would tend to agree with the $1500 for an average Inglis BHp

What about for a No 1, no lanyard ring, with an original stock?
