You only pay 5% tax if you buy from a retailer outside BC. If you shop online with a retailer that is based in BC, you still pay 12%.

And I am pretty sure Reliable Gun will price match the price WITHOUT taxes. I have NEVER heard of any retailers doing price matches with taxes...

We don't currently have either of those sku's in stock. However there is a $25 dollar rebate available for ANY "Express" 870.

Hey there Grandmaster.

That is actually a different product. The ones that tactical imports is bringing in is made by Zastava and the ones we have are made by Czech Small Arms(CSA) so unfortunately no I can't match the price when the costs are different.

Looking to buy a tavor... the 7% extra PST would definitely be a deal breaker. Can someone from Reliable give an official answer?

Of course! I'd be happy to.

The way tax law works is that if you are purchasing the firearm in BC you are required to pay both GST and PST. In the case of purchasing from another province if you are in a HST province you pay HST but if you are in a province that has the two separate taxes, GST and PST you are only required to pay GST.

I hope that helps, it's not a store policy that retailers get to choose, it's what is required of us by law.

Thank you Nick for your prompt reply.

The logical next question is, would Reliable consider lowering the price so that the after tax (12%) price matches the out of province after tax (5%) price for the same product (assuming shipping cost is way less than the PST, of course)?

I will never shop at Eagle or that other place in Richmond. Wouldn't price match over $10 on a Mesa Tactical side saddle from a another shop that's about three hours away. Reliable is my go to shop, even though I live in Richmond.

Hermes is a great guy to deal with, so are the rest of the staff.
