It means we won't break MAP and, there's overhead to pay, so it has to make sense as a business decision.
I'm not trying to tell SSS how to conduct business but that sounds way too complicated for me as a consumer to know whether your policy might apply to something I might want to purchase. Regardless, I thank you for your time sir.

As stated, we can't guarantee a price match on certain items due to MAP pricing in the industry. That's our policy.

What's complicated about it? If you see something you want but it's cheaper at another dealer simply call and ask if they will match it. You'll get a simple yes or no answer.
You just spent more time posting this and complaining about how complicated things are than it would have taken to call and ask.
Life is only as complicated as you make it no?

Sounds like it's worth asking for a price match, but the answer may be "no" and that's perfectly fine
