Price of .30-06 brass?

What is the going rate for once fired brass? Specifically, once-fired, shiny/good condition, and not prepped. Mixed headstamps.

I'm cleaning out the shop. I never got around to getting dies for this caliber, and am putting 340 of them up on the EE. Just want to know a fair price to ask for a fairly quick sale.

I was looking at new brass the other day, common hunting calibers in non-magnum were going for about 30 bucks for 50 cases, or $.60 each: ready for powder and bullet. In my opinion, once fired mixed brass would be worth less than half. Many loaders don't like doing mixed batches, and they still need to be sized and trimmed. Still lots of work to be done to "once fired" compared to "ready to load out of the bag". Also depends if its a mix of two or three brands, or five or six?
 
Yeah not too long ago new common rifle was $25/50 (WW/RP). Then during and after the '08 ammo shortage the price got up to around $35/50 here. $1+ a piece for .375 and .45/70 type stuff.

I figure once fired has to be worth less than half on common stuff and way less on the mil calibres and super common (.223/5.56,9mm,.38spl etc). So .25 cents a piece.


We still have one shop that shyed away from reloading gear under new ownership and still has a ton of RP .30-06 and .303 brass among others for $23.99/50 new.
 
It's out there but not so easy to find here since no one really uses .30-06 in Militaries anymore. There doesnt seem to be much .30 Surplus on the Canadian market either. Tons in the USA at times though.
 
"...Mixed headstamps..." All commercial? Marstar lists mixed(maybe some nickel plated) 'once fired' .30-06 at $16.95 per 100. $69.95 per 500. Those being retail prices. Sold out, of course.
"...have a project..." For a display? .30-06 brass all looks just like any other. Unless you look at the headstamp, nobody will be able to tell where it was made. There has never been cases lots of milsurp .30-06 ammo, up here, anyway.
 
I've stocked up on 30-06 brass in the last year or so, both civilian and military.

If the seller wants more than $20 per 100 I'm not buying and I bought as much as I wanted from a handful of fellows.

So shop around and don't pay too much.
