Price of CZ858 and ammo in the Czech Republic

I would love to get a CZ 858 rifles and lots of 7.62x39 ammo from the Czech Republic. Thanks to Google and the Google Translator I did a little research and found that:

1) I found a few sites with prices and the going rate for a CZ 858 is about $300 (5,3000 CZK)

Wow, $300 for a brand new CZ858 and ammo sold for a fraction of what we pay, so has anyone imported a firearm or ammo from the Czech Republic and how was the process?

I cant speak for that particular rifle on the website, but one of the main reasons CZ's cost more here is that they have to be made on brand new (milled) receivers, which are expensive to make. It's possible that the rifle you linked to uses the modified original VZ receiver, and would therefore be prohibited in Canada. This being said, 100% markup on guns like that isnt unheard of in Canada...

On a side note... Those 7.62x39 BZ (API) and 7.62x54 PZ (HEI) would sure be fun to play around with... I wish i lived in a free country...

If you can bring them in cheaper go for it. But I doubt it. The CZ 858s we see are made just for Canada. 19 inch barrels, new receivers etc.
 
Czech rifles are just modified army stock, full auto future removed and the space welded in. We get rifles with new receivers that is the difference in price. To get real compression compare newly made 5.56 model than you will see we get good price for the gun in Canada
