I am thinking of buying a P226. Can someone tell me what is a typical or average sort of price for brand new mags?

Also, do any lefties out there shoot Sigs? I really like the feel and balance of the pistol, but I find the slide release very difficult to reach without totally compromising my grip. Any advice from the lefties out there?

Well what I can add to this is that I had a P220. I felt that for a lefty it wasn't IMO a good choice.I agree that the slide release is hard to reach/operate for a lefty. The P226 is a "wide body" so depending on the size of your hands it may fit. I found that the "single stack" P220 grip was too small for my large hands. I purchased some Novak mags and found them to be of high quality, extended floor plates and fit&finish were excellent.
I ultimately went to a USP 45 with a LEM. This set up for me is great, no safetys to worry about just " draw and shoot". Hope this helps.

sig mags

For some reason factory Sig 226 10 round mags have real problems getting 10 rounds in them (9 1/2 seems to be about the limit.)

Mec-Gars take 10 rounds no problem and are every bit as good if not better (nicer finish for sure). Also tend to be a little cheaper ($25-30).

I have this problem with my 226 as well. I bought a Glock loader to get that last round in. Only $9 and after 250 rounds the magazines are getting easier to get the 10th round in. Probably won't need it after a 1000 rounds.
