Just picked up 3 pounds of Varget at $43.99 a pound, other powders were around $39.99 a pound. What are the prices in your area?

I recently picked up some H414 since I couldn't find H4831 for my 6.5x55 Swede loads. It was $27.63/lbs at LeBarons.
Benchmark I bought recently was $32.94/lbs.
I bought some Titegroup for 44 special/mag loads and it was $23.36/lbs. Was quite surprised by how low it was.
I picked up 2lbs of Varget in mid summer for $32.94/lbs.
All these LeBarons prices are before the 10% member discount. They only get powder in 2-3 times a year and it lasts for only a couple weeks at most. You need to find out when a powder order is expected to arrive and call every day to find out if it's arrived yet. They also have a 2lbs/person/day rule at the Ottawa store.

I bought some H4895 from a small local shop, not LeBarons, and I paid $34.99/lbs around mid summer. The same local shop sells Goex black powder for $26-27/lbs.

The most I've paid for a pound of powder is from LeBarons and is $37.54 for IMR3031.

I have the powder stacked up beside me with the price tags on the lids.

I do know there are many shops drastically increasing their prices all over the country and since there was/is a dry spell people are willing to pay it.

I picked up some Varget a few weeks ago for $31/lb, H414 $28/lb and H1000 for $31/lb.

And I'm still only paying $34.95/1000 for CCI primers.

Last brick of 1000 CCI primers I got where I think $39.99 a couple weeks ago. That doesn't have a sticker on it since it was a behind-the-counter item.

I've found that there has been little increases in prices at places like Higginson's, Lawry's and Hummason's. But at small local gun shops I've seen some ridiculous prices, $49/lb for powder, $59/1000 CCI primers and $47 for a 500rd brick of Federal 22LR

I've found the same thing. If you buy from companies that import their own products, prices have only gone up a little. If you buy from a small shop that purchases from a Canadian wholesaler, prices can be all over the map.

I don't look at the prices.
I need powder to keep shooting so I buy it. Once a year a couple buddies and myself make a 30+ pound order from Higginson's and I grab a pound or two here and there when I see it in stock at a local retailer.
I have a lot of powder at home and develop loads using more than one powder so if I can't find my favorite I just use another.
The prices are what they are and it's still cheaper in the long run than buying factory ammo.

i've got half a can of varget, it's yours for $300, after all you don't look at the price. $50 is ridiculous for a pound of powder in current times.

I just picked up some IMR 4350 last week for $40 plus tax in Thunder Bay. Very limited selection.
Where do you buy your stuff 09outlander?

First place I go to is Lawry's Shooting Sports, second is Hummason's and if I have to I'll run up to LeBaron's, Bass Pro or Cabela's but that's a last resort. I refuse to buy from any of my local gun stores, ain't enough lube in the world for the ass raping you get at those places.

I just bought 4 pounds of Varget from Cabela's South Edmonton. They had it in stock when I went in so it went home with me. I have no idea how much it was.

Really hard to find pistol powder here down east. I have checked all the shops within 2 hours and if they do have powder it is rifle or black powder and it is in limited supply. I have tried to order from Cabela's but the $200.00 shipping cost for a $27.99 lbs of powder was a little much, Lebaron has good prices as well but won't ship powder. Anyone with a good line on pistol powder let me know.
