Price of shells increase?

Good day,

I just noticed that the local Wally mart and CT increased the price of the cheap 100 rounds target loads by a good $12 average. Is this just a local thing? Yellowknife here. These 2 stores are the only local option for buying ammo, so that might local gouging...

Anybody elsewhere noticed an increase?
 
Yes they are going up. I find single boxes of target 12gage at 10-12$

We are doing a group buy with the gun club for 69$ a flat right now.

So I'll be stocking up.
 
I guess the inevitable increase cause of the dollar had to hit at some point. I did well and stocked up on ammo last year. I am sitting pretty happy right now... in a few years though, I may be singing a different tune.
 
Challenger target rounds at the local Canadian Tire in Bridgewater, N.S. are $90.00 a flat + tax ( $103.50 ). A flat is 10 boxes = 250 rounds.

Needless to say Cambodian Tire can get stuffed as they are to be had a short distance away for $75.00 taxes in.

Cheap Winchesters 12ga are now $43.99/100 plus the 15% tax here at CT so up here also. Hard to believe the very first box of these I bought here were $14.99 /100 and that was maybe 11 years ago max plus were a way better quality federal round
 
Haven't seen the price jump here yet, however I heard it coming in short order, one local shop placed an order 2 weeks ago for target loads and pricing was up 25% over the previous order, as such the shelf price will be heading the same way. I did notice the increase in price on powder, I attributed it to the currency exchange more than anything. I was paying $29.99/lb for Titewad prior to 2015, it's now at 32.99/lb(when in stock) locally. Federal Top Gun is $74.96/flat at Bass Pro here, Cabelas is selling Challenger for $7.99/box, The Gun Dealer in McAdam has Challenger & Estate at the moment for $64.99/flat.
 
Challenger target loads are $64.00 a flat and promises no price increase this year (Canadian made) All others are going up -- Ross buys 25000 flats of Challenger at a time & pays up front to get the best price. He buys more than Cdn Tire or Cabalas.
 
Up here big time in Saskabush, too! CT & Wobble Mart are up. Cabela's Challenger were up a bit, too. Rifle shells are waaayyy up. .303 is $2 a round and over. Saw some 30-30 170 gr Winchester for just over $20. I paid $1 each for 100 6.5x55 Lapua brass yesterday. Hornady brass was $1.50 each!

I pity the guys who go to the ammo shop just prior to going to the range. :eek:
