price range check for Winchester 50 Skeet

Looked through the threads and could not find this subject discussed. Just acquired Winchester 50 semi-auto Skeet as part of a trade. No interest in keeping it. It is in really good shape and I want to put it on the EE at the appropriate price. The only comparable I found was an unfired one in one our sponsors listings at $799. I am guessing about $550 would be a good price. I know nothing about the skeet game. Am I close to the mark?

My camera is not available right now, long story. The photos would show a shotgun in very shape with low use and minor handling marks. I just want to be in the ball park when I list it on the EE. Thanks in advance.

Post a pic or two if you can. Most model 50's fetch about $350 in mint condition and slide down the scale from there. The last target grade 50 I saw sell was a trap model in 98% condition and it went for $425.

Thanks Spank, the camera is coming soon. Thought they were worth more. Hard to find comparisons in Canada, the US comparisons are probably not relevant. They ranged from $250 to $800 in the States. This one has not been fired very much. My online research indicates they were a well made shotgun but were only manufactured for a short time. Not considered a high end shotgun but considered to be well made and have a following in the skeet crowd. Thanks again. Should be able to post photos tomorrow evening.

Here are the promised photos. There are some marks on the bottom of the forearm and stock. The action is crisp. Some bluing loss on the top side of receiver just along edge. Rest of bluing is very cherry. This shotgun was never fired by the person I got this from, he received it from the estate of his father-in-law in 1978. It has always receive ongoing maintenance; he was an armorer in the Air Force and knew how to care for firearms. The checkering is in new condition. It comes with the trigger lock and soft case. I was going to list it at $550, but could find very few Canadian examples for sale. Seems I may have been on the high side from what Spank says. Figured the Skeet guys would give the ball park for listing this on the EE. Thanks in advance.

Its a nice example of a model 50 with a nice looking stock. Too bad somebody put a sling stud in it. You have nothing to lose listing it at the price you are thinking of. Try it and see.

I will list sometime this week on the EE. It has not been shot for decades so I should put her through her paces first. I hate to do it because she is all cleaned up and ready to go as she sits. Much appreciated advice. I have shot trap once and have a hand thrower which I use to tune up for grouse season but that is the sum total of my experience as pertains to this part of the sport.
