Prices on EE for Non-Restricted

And every single one that some nut bar thinks he can trace I sold in a face-to-face deal and visually confirmed that guys PAL in CT parking lot when I sold them!! Sorry cupboard is bare!!

LOL how did you get there?
Did you have your phone?

Sorry guys if you think you are being sneaky or a super spy or what ever you are not.

Ever wonder how those targeted adds you see on you phone in app or on your PC or from alexa etc get their info? News flash you don't own the info your devices collect about you. Or remember that gif of all the phones at spring break showing them all clustered together and then dispersing all over the US? You think they contacted everyone of those people and they gave consent to use their location data?

Sorry to burst you bubbles, but the info is there if they want it. Is the juice worth the squeeze, not currently. But that data is never going away

Also you guy never used the EE to buy or sell any of these "ghost" guns did you? CGN has already publicly stated they have and will continue to provide information to law enforcement if asked

Sounds like lots of circumstantial evidence at best.

LOL this thread just turned interesting ha.

CGN retains data for 90 days. Will bits be on some server somewhere? Sure. But not as easy to get as you see on TV/CSI.

You might have sold your stuff through the CATF. That's a paper publication and sure they would have records as well, but the trail ends there.

Not sure about you guys but I meet people at the range all the time, and have indeed traded long guns with them, visually checked PALs, but never logged any more info than that. People generally don't let you keep pictures of their ID.

And no, we do not have anything akin to the US Patriot Act. RCMP can't just willy nilly grab your phone and download your data because they feel like it. Even if they did, it would be circumstantial. "We met outside my LGS... we met at the range... I was paid cash... I traded 50+ items last year and don't recall". You get the point.

Hey guys just thought I drop a line and introduce... I'm John, avid hunter, community builder, beer lover and regular poet. Oh yeah, I know a thing or too about computers and IT. Look forward to sharing firearms passions with everyone here!

Lol that's cute Kodiak.

The data retention policy applies to the EE only: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/2009514-Equipment-Exchange-and-OIC

"Phase 2)
In 3 days, we will begin the process of hard deleting all ads in the "Exchange of Modern Military and Black Rifles" that have their prefixes changed to "pls remove" properly, in exception to the normal 90 days retaining policy."

I don't think enough of us thanked the mods for the hard delete.

Well, if people are willing to pay the prices. You have a choice. I think $1950 for a Rasheed is up there but to someone else it might be fine.

Man, these prices are insane and I have to seriously question their morality.

People charging $6500 for a Modern Sporter, and $2200 for FX-9s. I understand the polictical climate, but in a time where we need to be unified its like poeple on here are just trying to screw there fellow shooter.

It says right in the EE rules that is supposed to be a not for profit system, based on mutual respect. That clearly isnt happening.

After everybody has been effected by COVID-19 in someway negatively, after a heart breaking mass shooting in the Maritimes, being screwed by the government of our hunting rifles worth thousands, now I see the EE is filled with profiteers trying to screw each other over foaming at the mouth only because there rifle wasn't on the list. The Admin should take a list of everyone doing this and ban them for life.

It a little disgusted.

Chris

I've noticed same

Anything over 25%-30% is getting close to profiteering - which might or might not be allowed on CGN!

During the ice storm a many years back I was only asked for help with:
1) heating - not freezing to death
2) food - not starving to death
3) home protection - making sure that no one could take away 1) or 2)

Right now thing are starting to heat up in the US and 3) home protection (peace of mind) is worth more than a 25%-30% markup.

Alex

Different price means difference things to different people. If you are not comfortable with the asking price, you can easily look elsewhere. Simple as ABC

Two modern spotters sold tonight when priced below $4K. One definitely looked like it cost over $4K to build. I saw the price on the really nice one drop by $1K from original posting.

Profiteering:

Like when you sell N95 masks to a hospital for 1000 times what you paid for them because the Dr. are using T-shirts and bandannas.
For selling bottled water for the price of a good champagne when no other source is available.
For selling back a ventilator to the country who gave it to you for free when you desperately needed them.

Deciding not to buy a discretionary item that you liked but didn't want to pay for the price for admission to ownership - is not profiteering. Not even close.
