i walked into the local gun shop today to see if they had any .22 ammo. i shoot the American Eagle bulk packs. well, yes they did. but holy crap!!!!

1.5 months ago when i last bought it, it was priced at 16.95 per brick.

today, it was 29.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!

needless to say, i didn't buy any ammo. the guy behind the counter was telling me that all the ammo prices have gone way up. is this true?

I shoot Remington "Cyclones" and still have about 15 bricks. Also still have about 8 bricks of those Federal "ValuePaks"
I could just juse these and hold off, but if I do what will a case cost next year?? :(
&$*# stupid afghan/iraq war...and whatever other excuses suppliers have.

20+ bricks of Federal in storage. Squirreled them away when they were about $15/brick. Last I've seen, they were running around $22+ .
Working my way through a bunch of Dynapoints right now.

(E)

30 dollars for AE is insane. Local CT sells it for 20.99. I remember just a couple years ago it was 16.99.

I still see $20-range...I agree that things seem to out of control. Remington Golden's....are my friends...;)

Also still have about 8 bricks of those Federal "ValuePaks".

I need to buy many more of those....good value, good round. They cost about the same as the AE mentioned above ($20.00). Time to clean-out my Wal-Mart....:D

Working my way through a bunch of Dynapoints right now.

Personally, I try to buy those at wholesale-like prices...worth the trip.

Bricks are 500, I usually pay about $18.

Seller on the EE had cases of AE .22 for $200. (5000 rounds - $20 per 500)
Not a bad deal, but not run out and buy it. He couldn't sell it at $200, he has now jacked up the price to $250 per case.
20% more LOL who will buy it now??

I got a box of the rem's thunder bolt I will sell to you @ $200 for 5000 or if you live in the lowermainland $20 for a brick.
LoL!!!

I buy CCI Minimags @ $32/500...

...more expensive but my rifle prefers it over Thunderbolts or Dynapoints.

I also buy the Winchester SuperX High Velocity for about the same price as the Minimags and they seem to work well also.

Anyone see the going rate on a brick of Stingers? !
I Like the 40grn Velocitors better than the 32grn Stingers - but they also cost more. The performance of the Stingers/Velocitors, IMO, do not justify the price difference between them and the Minimags or Win Super-X high velocity.

I was at my local gun shop today and the had Bricks of Federal Champion on for just over $19.00 and there were 525 in a box (.22 ammo). I thought that a decent enough price. Not sure how good they are.
Remington Cyclones that I usually shoot were over $33.00 for a brick of 400 or maybe it was 500rds. The brick I bought last year, I believe I paid just under $25. I would have to say, yes, it is true. :(
CCI green tag target loads for .22's, a box of 100 rds was going for $20 and change.

And really.... How much lead/copper is in a .22 round. The prices of these commodities is at a 5 year low.

The dollar just recently went down...should not effect current stock

So these increases must be profiteering.

I got lucky on some cases at Wholesale sports a couple of years ago $135.00, bought some extra.
My fav shooting 22 ammo is the Rem Game load, real accurate in most of my 22's. FS

Sounds good...the lowest I've been able to buy them is at $36/brick. :yingyang:

what are they at now?

About $45/brick, last time I checked...? :(

I think they are very under-rated, and one of my favourite brands of plinking ammo! :)

Or clearing old inventory.....

I've heard good things about this ammo, but one silly question - is it "dirty"?

S#!t...just checked WSS price for 5000 rnds of Remington Cyclones...$259.99  Thats $90 MORE than I paid last year! Just might have to put away the semis and start using my bolt gun.

Prices in southern ontario leveling out, but not any cheaper.

There was no supply of .223 ammo last year, now Winchester picked up production, and now going for $11 or $12/ box. (they had AE brand at $14/box last year). I wouldn't expect to see them drop, just level out.
