Hey guys, ive just started getting into the collection of military rifles, so a question which im sure has come up often,
What are they worth?

I just bought a 1918 no1mk3 been sported looks like a decent job,matching numbers,
also a 1917 MK111 SMLE can be configured back to military specs

so i got an email from a guy i had bought some military stuff of off, his brother in law has had this rifle sitting in his closet for 30 yrs,
from what i can tell its a P14 1916, its been sported, by that i mean all the extra wood has been removed, and the spot where the brass tag was has been filled in also the bottom sling mout has been covered as well and other sling mounts have been put in its got the flip up peep sights and a clean bore, the bolt doesnt have matching numbers, i can be brought back to military looks, its a top feed 5 round capicity, its got RE stamed on the top of the barrel, but whats it truly worth? i offered him 135-150 is that a good price?

Any help or input would be awesome, as im just starting out
Thanks

The P14, if with a clean bore, for $150 it's quite decent. I could fetch more on a good day.
Exactly that. I bought one just yesterday and I paid $150. The last 2 I bought in the spring I got for $125
They are not a hot item as most people don't know what they are. Brought back to full wood the prices are in the $450 region (if you can find the wood)

$150.00 as Lou says is a good price for a sporter. Is it economically feasible to restore to military configuration? That is another question. If you are lucky you can find some of the bits here and there for reasonable prices.Wood is probably going to be the hardest item to find unless you find a set that someone removed to build a custom rifle. If you like to tinker and don't care if you ever get your money back it is a satisfying hobby. If you are patient you can still come across a numbers matching P-14 in full wood for $300-$400.

one of them forsure i can prolly take back to military specs, but ive also got a no1 mk3 that ive found a few parts for as well, one of them i wont be able to take back to miliraty cause the sights and barrel have either been changed completely or just this sights, so ive got 1 forsure, and if i buy this other one then 2 i can take back, although my next purchase is goin to be a ross, i have a bayonet so then next one i want is a ross rifle to fit the rifle
