Pricing a Lee Enfield

I acquired a no.4 MKI* Long Branch 1944 full wood 2 groove bright bore. Butt walnut I'd say and the remainder not. Where the black painted late in the war?

If it’s painted in any way, then the rifle was FTR outside of Canada.

OK...........what's the ballpark value?

I would say max of $850 to $1000 if the paint appears to be genuine "suncorite" suggesting a proper FTR or refurbishment somewhere. The mismatch of appearance of butt and forend you describe might affect value negatively and you don't mention if it has matching bolt, serial on forend, factory original barrel, etc.

OK thanx tough to make out serial # with the damned paint. I'll try a glass + flashlight.

I think 850-1000 is generous for a mixed color stock set and painted ftr shooter.

I am suspect with the but and forestock being different colour that this may be a 'restoration' of a sporter back to full wood

and that perhaps $600-$850 would be closer
