Pricing Help - Marlin Safety 44-40

When looking them up I didn't find many in 44-40, I got half a box of ammo with it, had no idea that was hard to find ammo

I guarantee the guy that traded it to you knew exactly how difficult 44-40 ammunition was to find...... LOL

At $90.00 per box of 50 rounds (HSM ammo), that's over $2.00 every time one pulls the trigger. This is with taxes in, but no shipping. Add shipping to this cost and it's even more. The Hornady ammo works out to $2.40 per shot fired, again not including shipping.

If you are independently wealthy, then no worries, fill yer boots.

If not, take your $1000.00 and "Start The Car", run as fast as you can!....... LOL

Most people that have 44-40’s reload for them which drops the price way down. I always laugh at people that buy calibers that are hard to find ammunition for and they don’t reload or they only by one box at a time instead of stocking up.

As long as one can find and afford to shoot the 44-40 caliber, I 100% agree.....

I'm a 45 caliber guy myself, 45 Long Colt or 45-70, feel the rush!..... LOL

Model 1889, made around 55,000 of them up through the mid 1890's. Very well made rifles. If bore is good(most arent) and wood is sound and unsanded $1000 isn't unrealistic.
