Do any CGN'rs own one or have you tried one?
Any pros or cons would be appreciated . The reviews seem pretty good.
PROs:
The big ring on the reticle. On a pistol it's significantly faster to acquire the chevron by using the ring as an indicator. If you're putting it on a PCC or a shotgun, that big ring isn't really going to be that much use.
The chevron. I like it. It sits below the target with the tip of the chevron at your zero, so your target isn't obstructed by a 2, 3, or even 6 MOA dot. Yeah the dot isn't a big deal up close but I can use that chevron to make consistent 50-yard hits in the A zone of an IPSC target with only the occasional user error in the B zone. With a 6MOA dot, I wouldn't even be able to see that zone.
Like all holosuns it has the shake awake feature so I am not afraid of putting it away and taking it out a couple months later with a dead battery because I forgot to turn it off.
RMR footprint is pretty common, so it should sit on any RMR adapter plates or RMR cut slides.
CONs:
It isn't an enclosed sight. I love the format of the Acro and Holosun 509T. If they made a Vulcan reticle in the 509T that would be a total winner.
A counter argument for the circle could be made that if you become dependent on that ring you won't develop the presentation skill to consistently acquire the dot quickly when you shoot a regular red dot.
And some people hate the chevron, they believe it's too big or distracting. I don't find that to be the case personally.
