Hi everyone.
I Purchased a primary Arms slx 3-18 scope recently and it showed up about a week ago. I have been having a look through it before mounting it on my rifle and I can't seem to get the scope to focus beyond a couple hundred yards on any magnification beyond about 13x. And in order to focus at any great distance say beyond 1000 yards I can't focus beyond say 9 power. I feel like my parallax setting doesn't travel far enough to clear the picture. I think that the parallax is out of adjustment.
I find it hard to believe that a scope with a reticle designed for shooting beyond 500 yards wouldn't focus beyond a couple hundred. Perhaps it really just isn't a good scope. I do feel that the amount of positive reviews out there couldn't possibly be made by someone looking through the same scope as mine.
I am wondering if anyone else has this scope. Do you have the same issue and is this what I should expect? or does my scope in fact have issues?
If anyone wouldn't mind giving me some feedback with your experience so I can figure out whether It is what it is or if I should look at sending it back.
I reached out to Primary Arms and it seems as though if I feel the scope isn't right I have to return it to the dealer that I purchased it from and they will send to PA for inspection. It seems to me that I will eventually pay to ship the scope 3 times and wait an undertimined amount of time before I can use a brand new scope. This doesn't really inspire confidence in purchasing any more of their scopes.
