Primed 7.62x51 Brass - what's it worth?

Guys,

I have the opportunity to buy 2.5K of Berdan primed 7.62x51 military brass. Essentially drop in some powder and FMJ bullet to make some cheap reloads. I wanna give the guy a fair price.

Any idea what it's worth? What would you pay? I'm usually only reloading precision rounds with 155 AMAX, but wouldn't mind a bit more cheap blasting ammo for my M14 and RFB (soon!).

Any thoughts?? Obviously not reloadable again, so it's more like throwaway ammo.

5 cents per max. Brass has no value, and putting a primer in brass takes no time.

The real issue is whether it's corrosive. If it is I would personally pass on it. If it isn't, figure that it's going to cost another $.67 to $.75 cents on top of what you pay for it to reload it, no matter how it's primed. On the other hand, once fired brass runs around $.15/round and is usually reloadable.
This stuff has had the bullets pulled. Probably to get the components. The necks, will still need to be resized to get consistent tension.

Another thing to be careful of. A few months back, there were several thousand rounds of Spanish CETME 7.62x51 that were broken down for components that were sold off. They were broken down because of inconsitent ignition because of primers that had deteriorated. Be careful with that stuff.

A couple of years back, I bought 5000 primed 8x57 Mauser cases. The fellow, offered them all to me for $100. I almost fell over myself, handing him the money. This brass looked like it was made yesterday. Bright, no stains or dents, beautifully annealed necks. I happily loaded up 50 rounds of milsurp bullets I had squirreled away and took them to the range. Hang fires and duds were the norm for all 50. I gave them all to a fellow in Summerland, that runs a foundry. He put them to good use. Actually liked the alloyed brass in them as it had a low melting temperature.
